LLD Driven Automation for Zabbix
The goal of this course is to fully explain Low-Level Discovery (LLD) concepts and provide practical knowledge of how to configure LLD in Zabbix. The course covers LLD basics, internal mechanisms, advanced filtering, dependent discovery rules, and nested LLD for complex environments. It also shows how to integrate with SNMP and ODBC for automated discovery of network devices and databases. During the course, students will practice creating and optimizing LLD rules, configuring filters and overrides, and implementing advanced LLD scenarios. They will learn how to automate Zabbix and create discovery rules for devices and systems from a variety of vendors and platforms.

For all attendees
For passing the exam
Acquired skills and knowledge
Customize LLD for any type of endpoint
Configure low-level discovery to discover OS resources, databases, SNMP OIDs, virtual machines, containers and more.
Discover hierarchical host structures
Define multi-level discovery rules useful for discovering nested components and hierarchical resource structures.
Filter and customize resources
Create filters and overrides to filter out or apply different discovery logic to resources that don’t conform to standard configuration.
Outcomes
Organizational impact
Low-Level Discovery (LLD) is a cornerstone of automated monitoring in Zabbix, enabling the dynamic detection and configuration of hosts, items, and triggers. During this course, attendees will learn how to design and implement efficient LLD rules, apply filters and overrides, and integrate discovery to monitor diverse environments - from network hardware to databases and enterprise applications. This knowledge helps organizations reduce manual configuration, improve scalability, and maintain consistent monitoring standards.
Individual impact
By attending this course, participants will gain a deep understanding of LLD internals and advanced techniques, including dependent and nested LLD rules. They will learn how to automate discovery processes, optimize performance, and troubleshoot complex scenarios. This empowers individuals to confidently manage large-scale infrastructures and implement best practices for dynamic monitoring in Zabbix.
